Lettuce Lake Park
Just a few miles from USF in busy and congested Tampa is an escape into another world. Lettuce Lake Park feels like a distant plunge into nature and far away from the city. Boardwalks thread along the edge of the Hillsborough River weaving through the trees and swampy areas. There are benches on which to sit to ponder, clear, and refresh one's mind. |
Visitors can bring or rent a canoe to take out on the river. There are pavilions for picnics or family gatherings in the park as well as a grassy area to toss a Frisbee. Bike trails run throughout the park. You will find quiet areas and fun areas. It is a great place to gather with family or friends or just to contemplate life. It is a place to get out to make contact with nature and others that love nature. Lettuce Lake is a hidden treasure found just off Fletcher avenue in Tampa.
